The government fee to incorporate a new Singapore VCC is S$8,000, plus S$15 for the name application. Registering a sub-fund costs S$400. Those figures are the starting point, not the price of launching an operating fund.

What a formation quote should include

Ask for separate amounts for the constitution and offering documents, corporate filings, directors, secretary, fund manager, administrator, auditor and tax work. Banking and custody may carry minimum charges as well as transaction fees.

A package described as “VCC setup” might cover only incorporation and basic corporate documents. Check whether it includes the fund’s investor terms, onboarding arrangements and the work needed before the first investment.

Budget for a quiet first year

Run a budget in which fundraising takes longer than expected. Minimum administration, management and audit charges may still fall due even when assets under management are low. The annual return government filing fee is currently S$1,600, separate from preparation and professional charges.

Use ACRA’s fee schedule to distinguish official charges from provider fees.

Compare the same operating assumptions

Give each provider the same expected investor count, asset types, dealing frequency, number of sub-funds and reporting timetable. A quarterly private-asset valuation service is not directly comparable with daily pricing of a liquid portfolio.

Request a second-year estimate and an exit estimate too. Minimum contract terms, transfer fees and charges for additional investors can materially change the total.

There is no reliable universal all-in price without those facts. A useful budget shows the fixed annual cost, variable charges and cash needed before launch. Our provider pricing checklist helps test the small print.
